Q: Is the food are really expensive in alberta canada? How about the transportation isnt also expensive?
A: If your willing to have a roomate you can find quite affordable places in Calgary. I have been looking into moving downtown from the suburbs where I was paying $500.00 with a roomate and the place I found downtown is $700.00 with a roomate. You can search for nice places through www.craigslist.org if you want an idea of what you'll be lookng at. Food is pretty much on par with the rest of Canada's major cities but the public transportation system although not too expensive is not all that efficient if you live in outlining communities. Parking downtown is crazy expensive, one of the worst in the world however, there are lots of jobs here. So if you can find a cheap place to live closed to a train you can make good money in Calgary. I would look in Sunnyside or Inglewood. They are two older communities that have cheaper rent and are just on the outside of downtown. Good luck
