Q: I need to know the height of Calgary. I have been told that it is very high above sea level. I was also reading on the web about Altitude Sickness and that it is caused if you are at least 8000 feet above sea level. Is this going to be an issue for me when I go to Calgary in October?
A: Calgary is a bit over 1000 meters ( or 3000 feet ) above sea level, you will not experience altitude sickness in calgary, you may in the rocky mountains which are about 1 hour drive west of calgary.
