Could you cover most of the Calgary zoo in a 8 hour period.?

Q: That is all the time we would have, I hear there is a lot of walking, that is fine, and our preference would be to see the more exotic animals and cover the indoor gardens as well.... Would appreciate any input, I know a place like that would probably take a couple days to truly explore, however I would still like to attempt some enjoyment for that 8 hour period..

A: Yes, I have been there about 4 years ago. It is very nice and worth seeing. 8 hours is more than you'll need. You won't notice the walking as there's so much to see, your eyes will get tired before your legs! Enjoy! Don't know your time frame or even if you'd be interested, but the annual Calgary Stampede festival is the first week in July (check the dates by using Google). It is a blast. The city basically shuts down (not literally) for a week and people attend from all over the world. It's all about the rodeo and country type events but bands, great food, you name it, are everywhere. I've been there 3 times (2 on business) and Calgary loves the old wild west and a cow. I never knew that but got lucky one trip and hit the start of it. If time permits, or you can work it in, rent a car and drive North to Banff. It's worth the drive.
