Q: My friend is moving from Atlanta to Calgary and needs help finding a place to live.. I live in BC so I don't know the area at all! She'll be working as a nurse at Rockyview hospital, so would like to be convenient to it, preferably on public transit so if it snows she's not stuck (southern gal you know!). Complications include one teenage son, and she smokes (unpopular to landlords!). Does anyone have any suggestions for a neighbourhood to look in? The neighbourhood names mean nothing to either of us so it's hard to look up rentals :)

Maybe the local realtors can point you/her in the right direction: http://www.calgary-city-maps.com/relocation-Calgary.html The closest neighbourhoods to the Rockyview are: Brittania, Elboya, Altadore (north) Windsor Park, Belaire, Mayfair, Kelvin Grove (east) Chinook park, Haysboro, Pump Hill, Palliser (south, southwest) There is a small lake to the west of the hospital.
