What will I need?

Q: As a U.S. citizen and a member of the Army what documentation will I need in order to visit Calgary for a couple of days?

A: As of January 1, 2007 if you are flying between Canada and the US you will need a passport. If you are driving you can still get through with government issued ID such as a valid driver's license and birth certificate until 2008. I work at the airport in Calgary and have heard of a lot of US citizens being held up coming through customs because they didn't have the proper ID.
