Q: i have been out of high school for 5 yrs now, and i have wanted to become a travel agent. i have been working in China and korea as a teacher of English but i want to find something enjoyable.. i need help looking for the right school that i can learn well and that is not to Expensive. Can anyone help me?

A: Most two year colleges have travel and hospitality programs. Being a travel agent doesn't always require a specific education in being a travel agent, as there is on the job training learning the systems that the agency uses. I would advise you to call some travel agencies, and ask the people you speak to if you could stop by and take ten minutes of their time to learn how they got into the industry. Do not look at these meetings as interviews; look at them as information gathering meetings. Do, however, send a very professional thank you letter after your visit. Mention in that letter that if they ever have any openings, you would be thrilled to send them a resume.
