Q: i'm torn between uofcalgary and uofwestern ontario. london is a HUGE city with all concerts there, and calgary is more relaxed. i'm sure room rentals is lower in calgary than in london, i was told by my canadian teacher that london is very expensive..but I,VE HEARD that calgary can be a bit intolerant of different races. I am A MUSLIM girl, WITH A HIJAB. how bout it? NEED HONEST VIEWS. im from south east asia...going canada this september!!
A: Hello. I hope you have a good time here in Canada, regradless of where you stay. I find Calgary not to be relaxed as you say. We're a booming, growing city not ready to slow any time soon. The U of C has many great options. They are very part of the diverse Calgary community. As for racism, I've never seen or heard of it here in Calgary. We have many cultures here, Chinese, Italian, Hispanic, East Indian, so on so forth. There are endless career opertunities here as well. Almost every store is looking for workers, which would be great for you if you need a source of income while being a student. Myself, I'd choose Calgary. A remarkable city with interesting heritage, while keeping the new and modern alive. Enjoy your stay in Canada.
