Q: what is the nearest town to calgary to rent a house and to enjoy tranquility and vist the city from there thnak you
A: Cochrane, Okatoks, Strathmore and Airdre are all within a 20 minute drive or so of the city. Canmore, Banff, and Red Deer are a bit further. There are plenty of acreages in the area surrounding Calgary such as the communities of Bearspaw and Springbank as well, but I am unsure of the avalability of rental houses in any of these areas (I expect demand is quite high at the moment with sucess in the oil industry).
