Q: Which would you prefer and why?

A: Overall, I'd have to say Calgary because it's a bigger city with more to do, but Edmonton's got some nice perks too. It's got West Ed Mall, a much larger and much nicer river valley, and the Post-sec schools here are generally acknowledged to be more prestigious. More tours and events make their Alberta stops in Calgary, it's got the better winter climate, and it's closer to the mountains for outdoor pursuits. Plus, it has the better Public Transit system, both servicewise and area covered. If I wasn't already moving to the west coast next month, I'd be moving to Calgary. My spouse and I have outgrown Edmonton, it's just not that big a place for us anymore.
