Q: Hi ... I am thinking of moving to Calgary and think I would have to get a roommate for the first little, to be able to survive. What is the best way to find a roomie in Calgary, esp. if you don't have contacts. I am a Christian, and don't drink or party. Am in my 30's. Any suggestions on where to start looking?
A: I would contact some of the larger churches in Calgary and see if they have bulletin boards you could put up a notice on or see if they already know of someone looking. The Alliance churches are quite large. Centre Street Evangelical, Bethany Chapel are both large. I'm not sure which Catholic Churches are. Anyway, that might be a way. When I worked in a church we had a bulletin board with those types of notices up and there were always people calling in and asking for information.
