Q: going during the winter. is there much to do besides the snow
A: Okay, first you have you average tourist-y sites. -The Calgary Tower (kind of boring unless you're in it for the scenery) -Glenbow Musuem (again boring unless that's your thing) -The Calgary Zoo (dress warm!) -Canada Olympic Park (for the winter sport's enthusiast) Then there's the local stuff to do; -Shopping (Chinook Centre has it all) -Movies (Chinook has the good IMAX but there are a dozen others theatrs also) -Hockey games (Flames are at the Dome regularly if you're into that) -Bowling -Dining (tons of restaurants) Then of course there's nearby Calgary; -BANFF (world famous) -Kananaskis (we've gone for ice skating or marshmellow roasts, even in the snow) -Ice Fishing (Pretty dull....) - Drumheller (Bit of a drive but there's the Royal Tyrell Museum) I don't know, there's lots to do. Best of luck to you!
