A: Technically, you are supposed to change your license and health care after 3 months in a new province. That would ultimately mean changing your car plates and insurance, and posibly getting an out-of-province inspection for your car. However, if you have a permanent address that you can use back in BC, you can get around it. Just use your parents or friends address. Then you 'pretend' that you were only living in ALberta for 2.5 months each time (I'm sure it's likely that you will probably visist home part way through your time here. No one is really going to ask. There are plenty of people in Alberta that are hear for a very short time. In other places, you might have a hard time getting an apartment, but in Alberta we are used to everyone having out-of-province ID. Please don't tell Alberta Registry and the Ministry of Health that I said that! ;)
