Driving betwen Jasper and Edmonton, Alberta?

Q: Hi, I am planning to visit Banff area next summer. I am debating should I drive from Jasper to Edmonton because I am afraid of height and can not drive on a highway which edged on a cliff. However, if the road is not narrow and has a wide shoulder I should be ok. Can you give me an advice how highway 16 from Jasper to Edmonton is alike? Are there any parts that may be edged on a cliff? Thanks. I am planning to start from Calgary then Banff - Lake Louise - Jasper - Edmonton - Calgary

A: There are no cliffs to worry about between Edmonton and Jasper. None. Really. Now, if you continue past Jasper - toward Banff or Vancouver... there are some high passes, but please keep in mind that this is an extremely well travelled route by thousands of visitors to our country every day. It's not terrifying! Please contact Travel Alberta for more information, and check the weather and routes with CAA Alberta and BC.
