Q: i'm hoping to move to canada the begining of March next year, so want to start job hunting to get more of an idea, i'm hoping some companys might keep my details on record, does anyone know of any construction companys worth applying to.

A: Right now, they are practically kidnapping anyone in the construction trades to work in Alberta. Not just Edmonton, but Calgary as well. And BC is also undergoing a construction boom and a trades shortage. If you belong to a union, ask your rep for a contact with the Alberta construction workers union. That would probably be the best place to start. If you are non union, ask anyway. They'd probably be happier to have to apply to a union shop than a non union shop. One other possibility -- type Calgary Institute of Technology into your search engine, and see if you can work through them. They train tradesmen and also have a placement service. Good luck to you, and welcome to Canada!
