Best places to eat in Edmonton?

Q: My girlfriend and I are going to Edmonton in two weeks for 4 days and are wondering what are the best places to eat? Also what are some other activities to do while there? I would like to see an Oilers game as well. How much should I be willing to spend?

A: although i live in edmonton, i like to "research" my restaurants in advance. try this site to view different restaurants around edmonton: http://www.restaurantthing.com/ca/ab/edmonton/ personally i wouldn't recommend any of the places that answerer 2 gave. royal pizza & roadrunner pizza are dives and olive garden is way too over rated. if you're looking for good italian food though, i'd suggest chianti's on whyte ave. although west edmonton mall has a few food courts (yes a few) and a small strip (called bourbon street) dedicated to restaurants such as moxies, old spagetti factory & boston pizza if you want to truly enjoy edmonton dining at its finest, take some time and go to the site i provided to check out the local eateries instead of eating at the bigger chain restaurants. if you're looking to go to an oilers game, you should check out the oilers site (http://oilers.nhl.com/) to see when the games are then contact Ticket Master (http://www.ticketmaster.ca/section) to purchase tickets to a game for the oilers. you're looking anywheres from 50-250/per ticket. you're going from the nose bleeds to way at the front... there's always a service so keep that in mind when you're looking for tickets. if you're lookign to go "malling" west edmonton mall is definately up there. there is also South Common (outlet style stores) - located at 23ave & gateway blvd and edmonton centre (101st & 102 ave) which is downtown shopping but be careful of the hours you're planning to go... m-w 10-5, th-f 10-9, sat/sun 11-5.. oh and try this too: http://www.discoveredmonton.com/ it'll gve you more ideas about visiting edmonton
