Q: I want to move to Edmonton from Toronto for university (NAIT), into the North West part of Edmonton, how is it there? How is the safty? What people would you except there? Is everything close by (shops, stores, food etc) Is it fairly easy to find a place to rent and what are the prices there?
A: NAIT is a great college. As for where to live it depends where you are from. If you are from a big City you will find that Edmonton is pretty safe...if you are from a small town I probably would stay away from living NW close to NAIT. It isn't the nicest or best part of town. NAIT is however right across the street from a great mall (Kingsway). Unfortunately rent is high right now in Edmonton...again that depends where you are from and what you are used to. Check out craigslist for postings for rent. Also, don't believe the girl who said there is one month of summer! Although our winters are long and cold, we have gorgeous summers. It starts to warm up in March and the snow is usually gone in April. May to September is beautiful!
