has anyone ever booked an office event at Rundle Park in Edmonton?

Q: I'm part of the social commitee for my firm and I'mlooking for ideas on how to set up an event and BBQ for the office at the end of June. Any suggestions or links of any sort would be greatl appreciated:) Thanks

A: The City of Edmonton has an online site which tells you which parks and facilities you can hold a venue at and the fees and permits needed. It is a very interesting site as it will tell you which parks have tap water available, picnic shelters, wheelchair accessible, power for cooking/coolers, etc .Services such as vehicle access to the picnic site, additional power to the site and extra tables are available for an additional fee. Sites are booked on a first come basis. They also have picnic packages available that provide the staff and equipment. 2 staff for 2 hours is $135. The picnic site license guarantees you the use of the site. City staff may ask to see the picnic site license You will also have to to acquire and maintain no less than two million dollars general or personal liability insurance. Please note that you must keep music volume to a reasonable level. The use of public address systems or loud-hailers is prohibited. Also No consumption of liquor on City of Edmonton parkland is strictly prohibited.
