Is Halifax, Nova Scotia a good place to live?

Q: I'm from Manitoba, lived in Calgary and Vancouver.

A: I was there for a few weeks last summer. Essentially, Nova Scotia (and basically all the Maritime provinces) is laid back. Life seems to move slower there. A problem may be the price of housing, as it can get pricier (size pending). Food's pretty good, though it sometimes lacks a cultural variety; scenery is terrific.
