Q:

A: Morristown is a small settlement on St. George's Bay about 15 km North East of Antigonish, Nova Scotia. You'll find it on highway 337, on the east side of Cape George, between Lakevale and Antigonish Harbour. St. George's Bay is a large bay off the Northumberland Strait between Cape Breton Island and mainland Nova Scotia. Antigonish is a well-known university town and is easily found on any map of Nova Scotia. If you have trouble finding a map showing Morristown, I can send you a scanned section of the map I have. The township of Morristown was established in 1856 and populated by immigrants from the Highlands, who began to arrive in the 1800's. There was a school there in 1827 and a new school-house was built about 1880. There was a postal way office from 1855 to 1867. The population in 1956 was 89. Hope this helps... and I'm curious to know why you asked? I'm a Nova Scotian :o)
