going to Canada?

Q: Would i need a passport to visit canada for a week or so? How would I go about exchangeing my money for canadian money? Would a Grey Hound bus take me to canada or would i have to stop at the boarder and catch a canadian bus line?? I'm in West virginia USA btw

A: Everyone's answered your other questions, but if you're going to Halifax, the bus company in the Maritimes is called Acadian Lines. You'd switch to an Acadian bus at the Greyhound terminal in Bangor. Click on this link for more info: http://www.smtbus.com/ From Bangor to Halifax it's $136 CAD (adult fare) for the round trip. PS - You also need photo ID, not just a birth certificate or passport. You won't need a passport until 2008. Here's a good site to answer all your questions: http://travel.state.gov/travel/tips/regional/regional_1170.html And having some Canadian money with you before you cross the border is the best idea, however you can exchange currencies at most bank branches.
