What do you know about Nova Scotia?

Q: I want to go there and I knew it is a very beautiful coastal city. But I heared sometimes very bad storm come there and kill many people! Is it right? What's your opinion about living there?

A: You don't have to worry about storms such as you are describing if you live in Nova Scotia - it is not a city, by the way, it is a province. Halifax is the capital city. It would be very unusual for Nova Scotia to have a storm that killed people - doesn't happen like that. Nova Scotia doesn't get tornadoes, and hurricanes are not like the ones you get in the south - Nova Scotia occasionally gets what's left of the hurricanes as they are weakening - not usually a big deal. Nova Scotia has coastlline and also inland areas, though you are never very far from the coast. It is a relatively peaceful and relaxed way of life. Halifax has all the amenities of any large city with a smaller population. I lived in Nova Scotia for two years. The winters are not too bad, and summers are excellent. It is a great place to live.
