A: Mel is correct. The closest Metro stop is Place d'Armes. The only thing I wanted to add to that was that the Montreal subway system has a great website that shows maps of the area surrounding each metro station. I have enclosed the link to the Place d'Armes station, but you can use the "Back to Metro Map" link at the top to select another station to look at for other interesting spots.
