Q: Is it new, did it change names? Never heard of it before the last few Answers questions.
A: It opened in 2003 in Old Montreal. The building was constructed in 1873 and housed the Merchant's Bank prior to being closed for several years and then being renovated and re-opening as a hotel. It was designed by Wily Hopkins, who also did the Montreal Telegraph and the Great Scottish Life Insurance buildings.
