Amazing, elegant, upscale liquor store in Montreal?

Q: Several years ago, I spent a very happy weekend in Montreal. My companion and I happened into a beautiful store which sold expensive, unusual liquors. We were so impressed and delighted by its elegance that we have always fondly referred to the store as the "Musee du Booze". I'm going back to Montreal this year, and would love to find this wonderful spot again....but I don't remember its real name or its location. If it sounds familiar to you, please let me know what and where it is, and if it's still in business. Merci mille fois, Robin Frog

A: Any liquor other than beer and wine can only be sold through the government-run SAQ stores (Societe des Alcools du Quebec). The SAQ has five different types of stores that cater to the requirements of the people: SAQ Express SAQ Classique SAQ Selection SAQ Signature SAQ Depot For example, the SAQ "Express" offers the basic services when you need to run in and get a bottle of Bacardi, Smirnoff, or a wine for the casual dinner table. Meanwhile, the SAQ Signature specializes in hard to find bottles of wine, aged cognac, specialty brandies, etc. The SAQ Depot is when you are picking up wines or bottles of hard liquor by the case. You can find the locations for each at the website below. My guess is the one you want is the Signature store in Les Ailes de la Mode mall.
