Q: I heard that the airport is the worst place, but I don't speak French and do not want to be tricked.

A: The airport is the worst place because they will charge you more fees to exchange it. The best place I've found was the "National bank", branches are found everywhere but it seems not all charge the same amount. I've also found that charges depend on how much currency you want to exchange. I was changing my Canadian currency for Euros and if I changed $300 Can or more there were no fees. There are some currency exchange places that are everywhere in the downtown core but a bank is best. Enjoy your stay!
