Q:

A: There are two types of ocean liners you can take. First there is the true cruise ships. You would have to find a cruise ship that starts in London, Liverpool, or other UK city. Their destination would have to make at least a stop in the Port of Montreal. These ships there is not a big demand for it. You would need to find a cruise ship that makes a pick up in Montreal for people going to the Bahamas or some other tropical destination. These usually go through Halifax, Boston, or New York. The other option is a freighter cruise. There is always cargo ships leaving from UK to Montreal (sometimes daily) who are willing to take on passengers for the journey. However, don't expect first class accomodations and dancing on the main concourse. This is a working man's ship and you probably won't have much to do except stay in your room. I found one place that mentions these cruises and included it below, however based on the $125 per day price tag and they claim it sometimes takes 21 days to get across (Liverpool to Montreal), I'm not sure it would not be simpler, cheaper, and faster to fly.
