Q: I just got done from a visit to Montreal and entirely fell in love with the city. I plan to maybe move when I finish school in about a year to a year and some months. Is it difficult for Americans to move to Montreal, let alone get decent jobs? I will of course learn French. I mostly mean as far as immigration issues are concerned.
A: Yes, it's difficult for Americans to get a work permit in Canada. It would probably be easier if you have some type of unique job skill. It would be a good idea for you to check the Canadian government website to see what their immigration laws are.
