Q: Hi all, I'm from Ontario but on a trip to Montreal with my boyfriend who is on business. I am staying in Brossard. I have battled c. difficile in the past and think i am coming down with it again today. I need a non-emergency ambulance to take me to a good nearby hospital- I'll need to be put in isolation and seen by an infectious disease specialist... I'm half an hour away from Montreal general, is there anything closer?

A: You may want to try Charles Lemoyne Hospital in Greenfield Park. Sorry, I have no personal experience with that hospital, but it services much of the south shore and so should be reliable. They also have a good history with C. Difficile. While the provincial average for C.D. outbreaks is 9 for every 10,000 patient days, there record was half that when a survey was done a few years ago. Hope you feel better. Don't waste time on the PC...Go see them before you get dehydrated. Make sure that your boyfriend takes you there, or use a taxi so you don't faint while driving there or have an "accident" while on the bus.
