Q: We were in a casino in Gatineau a few years ago, and the face cards were not J, Q, and K as I am used to seeing them. The letters stood for words in French. What are the letters and what do they stand for?

A: R = Roi (King) D = Dame (Queen) V = Valet (Jack) By the way, Queen is Reine in French so we couldn't possibly have two "R" on the cards so Queen (Reine) had to be changed to Lady (Dame). It's as simple as that. Hope this helps!
