Q: i've hear a lot of anti-toronto jokes and just people who generally hate toronto putting down toronto...so my question is why does the rest of Canada hate toronto?
A: As a life-long Torontonian I have always wondered why this is as well. I have been told that people who don't live in Toronto (also known as the CENTRE OF THE UNIVERSE) think we are stuck up and get all kinds of special treatment from the government, etc. Actually, the gov't of Canada tends to ignore Toronto, downplay the financial needs of the city and generally crap all over us. However, we all know what a unifying concept it is for everyone to have someone to hate, you know it kinds of brings people together, lol. So, because it is not politically correct to hate Quebec, everyone can enjoy hating Toronto. But seriously folks, we love you all even though you hate our guts, our filthy potholed roads, our neglected inner suburbs, our under-funded schools, and our bulging homeless shelters - teeming with folks from all over Canada.
