Q: I need to find a summer job for my thirteen yeer old. We live in Canada Ottawa...Any solutions??

A: Seriously, I would be quite surprised if you found any business willing to hire a 13 year old. At that age, kids rake leaves or mow lawns or babysit for money, they don't work fast food or department stores. Usually kids start out working for a business around the age of 16-17, and usually non-fast-food businesses are hesitant to hire people of that age. Legally, you cannot work in a store that sells lottery products, cigarettes or liquor until you're of the age of majority (either 18 or 19 - most commonly 19). My advice, don't worry about your kid working at this age. If you want him to do something with his summer, offer to mow the neighbour's lawn or something - that's about all you'll find at that age.
