Q: I have a few things from Ikea in Toronto that I would like shipped to PEI. there is a bed and a few tables, everything in flat boxes not occupying more that 5x6. I have tried to look for moving companies but they all charge for a full load. anyone know how I can get them here for a reasonable price? thanks

A: What moving companies have you tried? My husband works in freight forwarding and thinks you may be being lied to. Try AMJ Campbell, The MI Group, or Kings Van Line and see if they will give you space on the truck, instead of charging you for a full load. You need a BIG moving company though that has offices all across Canada, and has shipments going pretty much anywhere all the time. Smaller lines will not being going to PEI as much and therefore not have a truck going there. If the furniture is Ikea it may just be cheaper to buy it again. These companies may charge you up to $1000 to move the furniture. Its worth it to call and find out though! Good luck!
