A: age 16 - learner's permit or "G1"; this allows you to drive anywhere but highways and you must have someone fully liscensed in the vehicle. 8 months (with driving school) to 12 months (w/out driving school) later; take driving test and get G2 which allows you to drive anywhere by yourself. however there are some limits; you have to have 0.0% blood alchohol, can't drive with kids after a certain time, etc 1 year after THAT: take the test to get your full G class liscense
