A: Loblaws, SuperStore and No Frills are all owned by the same company. What is happening is Loblaws are unionized so must pay employees fairly well. No Frills and SuperStore are non-union and can pay minimum wage.. Sooooo Loblaws is converting many of their "Loblaw" stores to Superstore and No Frills to get around the union obligations. Same her in BC where Save-On-Foods are shutting down and "Price Smart" (same company opens up again in same or nearby location
