Q: Hey guys, just wondering what the town of Oakville, ON is like in terms of: anything and everything lol :D Jobs, cost of houses/townhouses, i'm an aussie male so obviously young women lol, how long it would take to drive to Toronto, cost of cars, peacefulness, parties, nightspots, what you rate the average age of a resident is, how nice the lake is, fishing, sports, just anything you can think of. Thanks so much! cheers

A: I live in Oakville. And Oakville is one of the nicer towns of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). Houses are actually getting to be quite expensive now. Although the town is conveniantly just outside of Toronto, so if your a single male, theirs plenty of things for you to do such a clubbing, sporting events (Football, Soccer, Hockey, Baseball, Basketball, you name it, we got it), bars, etc. Their are new houses being made in western Oakville, on the border of Burlington. The lake is very nice, you have two parks that give you a great view of Lake Ontario. Coronation park, and you've got Bronte Harbor. The harbor is filled with boats during the summer, it has a light house, where you can sit and watch the boats go by. Early June, Coronation park has the water front festival, it's a carnival, and live entertainment. You can Ice fish in Bronte Harbor during the winter, although if your from Australia, you may not be too familiar with that. Their is sail boat racing during the summer, every wednesday and thursday night. Cars are cheap and expensive, the price of cars is the same anywhere. From Oakville to Toronto, it's about a 40 minute drive, depending on traffic. Oakville is one of the more peaceful towns during any season. Bronte, (A village inside of Oakville) has more of an older age population, ranging from 50 - 90 +). Their building another huge condominium in Bronte, right along the lake.
