What is Vancouver like at Christmas?

Q: I am thinking of going to Vancouver for Christmas with my husband. I would love a winter Christmas is this a good place and are we likely to see snow?

A: You are likely to see snow if you travel to any of the nearby mountains, but in Vancouver itself, chances are you won't. In fact, the probability of a white Christmas in Vancouver is around 11 percent (http://www.islandnet.com/~see/weather/eyes/whitexmas.htm) It'll probably be raining. Or sunny. But snow is unlikely. Here's a hint: Vancouver's climate is very similar to Seattle's.
