Q: I have never been outside the US, have a few (dumb) questions: Where and how do I get a passport? Will my credit cards be good in Canada? What are some good points of interest in Vancouver? Thanks
A: You can get passport application forms from the Post Office normally, and it does take a few weeks to get one, lots of stuff to fill out. Yes your credit cards will work. Points of interest - Stanley Park is beautiful, you can hire a bike and go for a ride, it's right on the edge of the city. Also good - the Granville Island Markets, Commercial Drive (if you like the alternative scene) and sightseeing spots in North Van like Lynne Canyon and the Capilano Suspension Bridge. If you have lots of time head up to Whistler or one of the local mountains, Seymour, Cypress or Grouse.
