Q: Class project Can someone who lives there tell me some local problems? Like homeless people, animals running around, polution etc
A: It's very typical of many ocean communities. Problems? It tends to be very rainy and cloudy a lot of the time. It gets busier and busier every year (tourists) and its hard to find accommodations and restaurants that aren't booked. Last year there was a severe water shortage and a lot of the restaurants and hotels had to be shut down. A few years ago, a young man was attacked by a wolf on an Island just off of Tofino. Also, there are some pretty serious rip tides, so surfers and swimmers have to use caution while out in the water.
