Q: In all reality, Vancouver is the only major city in Canada I haven't been to as it is on the west coast any my family weren't big spenders. What should I expect? Will it feel like a city like Ottawa?
A: Vancouver is much larger than Ottawa; third largest in Canada. It is very cosmopolitan and lively. The city sits on the Strait of Georgia, an arm of the Pacific Ocean, and adjacent to the Coastal Mountains. Thus, it is scenically beautiful. Vancouver has consistently been rated one of the best cities in the world to live, even though it is quite expensive! The climate is mild (rainy during the winter months, but spectacular during the late spring through mid-autumn.) There is always something going on. So there are plenty of entertainment possibilities & plenty of outdoor activities.
