A: Fort McMurray... The high price of oil and lack of workers for the oil sands has jacked the wages through the roof... that is if you have a roof! Housing prices are rediculous there. If you're not into hard labour, Calgary is so hurting for workers, fast food restaurants are paying upwards of $17 per hour. Thats more than twice minimum wage. If you have more specialized skills, especially anything that can benefit the oil industry, you can make significantly more. Again, cost of living is nuts. Whats your beef with the West anyways? It's way more chill than any other province.
