going on holiday to vancouver touring rockies do i need to book hotels or can i book as i go(september)?

Q:

A: Within Vancouver, you don't need to book hotels. If you check with that hellobc link that the above poster recommended, keep in mind that they seem to represent only the more upper end hotels. They are more pricey than the average hotel. This summer I contacted Hellobc for some information (we were travelling to the interior) and I was thoroughly disappointed with their information. Within the rockies (Jasper, Banff, etc), I would recommend booking. While the main tourism season is over, there's still enough tourism and trade shows that many of the hotels are booked.
