What are cool things to do that aren't really known about in Vancouver Canada or is it B.C.?

Q: I'm planning a trip next June and I want to stay at the Dominion hotel. It's a cool place I happened on online but I still need cool little places or big places that are fun and exciting that aren't in travel books and maybe some that are. Like cool dark restaurants that serve way cool food that all your friends know about. Some secluded park that tourist don't go to that I would never tell any of my friends about that way it be extra cool. I live in Portland Oregon USA so I need indie art scenes too so I sort of have, I don't know, I just like that stuff, it comes with being from Portland.

A: Whytecliffe Provincial Park which is just around the corner from Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal. It's a quaint, out of the way beach. It's infamous for diving (if you're into that sort of thing.) I love it because it's away from the beach located downtown Vancouver. For a cool dark restaurant you have to check out 'Locus' It's on Main street, always packed, very dark interior and they have some great food. Havana is another great restaurant. Great food. It is extra cool because it also has an art gallery in the back area. Great location. It's on commercial drive. A VERY cool street that has funky ethnic restaurants and stores.
