Q: How's job market like in Vancouver? I'm looking for finance, insuarnce, accounting companies. I work in US as a foreigner. Having some experience in US, would it be easy to get a job in Vancouver? How's it compare to Toronto, Montreal? I heard that it's harder to get jobs in Canada, for me it was super hard to get a job in US, I wonder how's it in Canada, specially Vancouver in general THanks

A: I am a former chef and worked in Vancouver and Victoria B.C a few years back, the permit is one thing, the best thing to do in your case is check the Job sites like Monster.ca, "HRDC" the Canadian Government site, Workopolis.com, they all can give you a better idea about the job prospects in Vancouver and B.C in general. As for Toronto and Montreal, there the 2 city's with the most corporate head offices, Montreal you would have to be bi-lingual enough to manage in the job, Toronto is the best idea, but there is alot of competition, if you are able to immigrate, you might be better talking to a placement agency that specializes in financial and management positions. I worked through a few and was with a chain hotel most of my 20+ year career, so before you make the move do your research, and it will be alot easier in the long run.
