I'm moving to Vancouver for a job on Pender Street. I will take transit. Where should I NOT choose to live

Q: I need something commutable, but in a nice, safe area, close to bike trails, maybe some local shopping and cafes. I'm coming from Ontario and want to make sure the area is safe. I am a single white girl 47yo. I am not adverse to a multi-cultural environment, but don't want to be a singleton of my race where I choose, choosing blindly.

A: do not move to anywhere in vancouver eastside then. it's probably the worst part of vancouver. you see lots of druggies and prostitutes milling around in east hastings street. other than that, anywhere in vancouver is easily accessible by transit. if you want super near to bike trails and still live downtown, you might want to see into living around the west georgia street. not necessarily on the street... but on the neighboring streets as well. it's near to stanley park where you can ride your bike... and you can walk to robson or denman street where there are lots of local shops and restaurants. at the end of denman street, you can hang around english bay... a beach in the city!
