Job Market: Vancouver vs. US(California)?

Q: I'm looking for a job in Canada. Specifically in Vancouver. Well, I'm currently studying in grad school in US. My major is statistics and it wouldn't be super hard to get a job in US. But I want to get a job in Vancouver more than US for several personal reasons. I want to know if it's possible to get a job in Canada as a foreigner.(I'm from Asia) I heard that lots of Canadians come to America to pursue jobs. It it because those who come to US look for better jobs or the job market in Canada is much worse than US? I heard Canadian Job Market is worse than US bcuz of economic system. I just wanna know where I could get a good info about this. Vancouver's my favourite choice. Thanks

A: The Canadians who move to the US do so because the pay in most professional jobs (nursing, etc.) is higher, not because there is a lack of jobs. Canada's economy is booming right now, the US not so much. Vancouver has plenty of culture - and a very strong Asian culture at that. There are areas in Vancouver that are almost 100% Asian. You would not have a hard time getting a job here as a foreigner at all. As for statistics, unfortunately I don't know anything about that job market, so I can't answer that part of your question.
