A: There are some wonderful parks throughout Burnaby, including the Barnet Marine Park. That's a lovely place to go in the warm weather because there are some nice beaches. (link below). There's also Burnaby Lake and Deer Lake. They have some good all-season trails throughout. Central park is very nice, and it's close to Metrotown, so after a long day of shopping amongst the thousands of people, you can escape to Central Park for some solitude. SFU is a nice place to visit. It's one of the two major universities in Metro Vancouver, and it's an interesting campus to tour. In addition, on a nice day it has some great views of Vancouver, Burnaby, the north shore mountains, and the surrounding areas. Heritage Museum is an interesting place to visit. there's an old carosel that is well worth the visit. The Hastings Heights area (Hastings around Gilmore in North Burnaby) is a delight to visit. There's some good bakeries, shops and restaurants.
