All Knowing 1, Kirsten a ,and anyone else who hates Vancouver?

Q: I'm honestly just curious. What actually happened to you in Vancouver that makes you hate it so much? And don't just say "VANCOUVER IS A CESSPOOL!!" "1-overdose 2-get robbed 3-fight traffic while looking for a non-existant affordable apartment 4-hate it because it's an abhorrent, shallow city 5-leave" "THE BAD IS REALLY FREAKY CREEPY BAD" Did you yourself overdose on drugs? Did you get robbed? Tell me your experiences.

A: Vancouver may have its problems, but it's not all bad. I can tell you that the crime/murder rate in Toronto is far worse than in Vancouver, and any American city will be ten times worse even than that - at least. And I don't know what you are talking about with the pollution - you need to get your eyes checked if you are seeing a yellow haze in this city as bad as what is in LA. I have been to LA and it is so bad you can not even see the surrounding hills - Vancouver is nowhere NEAR that bad - not by any stretch of the imagination - you can see the mountains perfectly. I can't even compare it to Toronto - their pollution is far worse than Vancouver's. Medical wait times are bad all over the country, not just Vancouver. Again, Ontario is much worse. At least you can still find a family physician here - you can forget about that in Ontario. We may have the poorest postal code, but every city has its problems with poverty, drug use, and prostitution. Just because it may be a little worse here, does not mean that we are the only city with the problem. However, Vancouver does have one problem that I can't defend - housing costs have become astronomical. It is for this reason alone that my husband and I will one day have to leave here. We just cannot afford to buy a house - no young couple can. Yes, housing costs are rising everywhere, but not like they are here. It is my one big problem with this city, and unfortunately it is big enough to probably make me leave.
