You take your knowledge test first (written part) and once you pass that, you get your L. You have your L (Learner's) for a year. Then, you take the 1st road test (Class 7) to get your N (Novice) license. That lasts for 2 years unless you pass a driving school, which in that case you would get 6 months deducted from the 2 years. (Meaning 1.5 years) After the 1.5-2+ years, you can take the Class 5 road test to get your complete license. There's fees for everything so make sure you pass the first time! Hope that helped.
