Q: HI, I currently live in Toronto and i was given a oppertunity to work in Vancover. My choices are Burnaby, Richmond or North Vancouver. I have never been to any these places, infact i haver never been to Vancover at all. I was wondering which is best for me. I'm 29 years of age and single, and the job that is being offer is a auto glass technician, which i have be for 14 years now. So which city is not so expensive, as i must find rent there. and how much money should i take with me to start. Thank you

A: Richmond may be the cheapest. Burnaby the most central, and North Vancouver the nicest hands down. Depends on your lifestyle for many things, but if you like the clubs, probably Burnaby is best, easy to get home from Downtown. If you like nature and outdoors, then North Van is best. Money wise the usual thing is to pay half a month rent as deposit at the time the lease is done. So say you find a place for $750 per month, you need $375 damage deposit, plus first months rent, so a total of $1125 for the accommodation. Services to be hooked up if not included may be another $150.00 I would suggest 2 grand as a minimum to have after travel expenses, assuming that you start work right away. Good luck. It is a great place to live.
