What are some

Q: I am thinking about fun activities over Christmas. The ppl in the group range in age from 28-65. We're all Americans.

A: I would definitely suggest to take the Seabus across Burrard Inlet to Lonsdale Quay ("key"). It's a great way to see the downtown part of Vancouver from the water, Stanley Park and the North Shore - including the mountains. Taking the gondola up Grouse Mountain is another way to see the sights. It's pretty pricey, but the view can't be beat when its clear. For a festive activty, I would recommend taking the Stanley Park train - this time of year the fire fighters put up christmas lights and displays as a fund-raiser for the burn unit. I believe it runs until the 3rd of January. Check out the malls. In the same way that Americans have "black friday", we have "boxing week sales". The malls will be busy, but you might find some good deals - especially since our dollar seems to be going back down, the deals will be even better. Have a good trip! Edited to add: VanDeusen Gardens, on Oak Street is also lovely anytime of the year!! http://vancouver.ca/parks/parks/vandusen/website/index.htm
